The digital switchover has already started
During 2008/9 the Borders TV region in Scotland will be the first to switch off the old analogue transmitters. With the rest of the country following over the next couple of years, the roll out will reach an end in 2012. Many areas are already capable of receiving the new service as the two will run side by side allowing user to upgrade their old equipment and enjoy the benefits of the new digital freeview service.
