Freeview televisions do away with the need for a seperate box. These TV's have a built in freeview tuner which receives its signal through the televisions aerial input.
This solution has several advantages over a seperate box/TV approach - they are tidier being self contained without the need for extra wiring and connections and only 1 remote control unit is required.
By their very nature, Televisions are designed for viewing only, and therefore usually only have one tuner and no output sockets. If you are planning to record freeview programmes, then we would recommend a PVR (recorder) with twin tuner or a seperate set top box routed through your current recording equipment.
