Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars Great Product!!   March 26, 2010

Being a University Student I did some research into set-top boxes, but nothings come close to this one. The Metronic 441808 is great product for a number of reasons; the price, it's functionality, the design and how easy it was to set-up. It literally took me minutes to set up and then I was away.

Once I connected all the relevant wires from TV to the box, I simply pressed the blue button on the remote which automatically scans all the services and channels. I thought I might have a problem with picking up some channels, as I live in a flat and the ariel isn't that strong, but it managed to pick up all of the channels; so I am able to watch all my favourite programs. The other asset that appealed to me about the Metronic 441808, is that it's an eco friendly box, which has helped me save a little bit of money on my electricity bill, as the product produces low energy emission when on. Even though the remote look very basic, it is a gem to use easy to get your head around and is very slim, like the digi-box. You don't have all these buttons on the remote, where half of them don't do anything, this also goes for the digi-box has the basic buttons on it, so if you do need to change channel or volume for whatever reason, it's there at hand in the front panel.

The box itself is slim and blends in well with all the fixtures, fittings and the T.V, I currently have in flat. I have had this product for over 4 months now and it has been very reliable. This has been a great purchase for me and very pleased that I invested a small amount of my student loan into this.

2 out of 5 stars It didn't find many channels   August 25, 2010

Purchased this free-view box based on a previous review that implied that despite living in a poor reception area and having an internal ariel the box was able to find all the available free-view channels. That I am afraid wasn't my experience - in fact I already had the cheapest box on the market from Argos which was able to find all the available channels and this performed rather badly against that model. I ended up giving this box to my sister who lives in a better reception area and also has a better ariel and it appears to work okay for her but it was a disaster for me.
