Our old TV does not have a SCART socket and this box works great through the RF output. Clear picture and very easy to tune in. Quick response on the remote too. Would recommend.

I bought one of these Labgear FV400RF two weeks ago, and for the first week it worked fine, and i was very happy with it.
Like everybody else i bought it as my old tv has no scart socket and i found that this Labgear was the only available box option which could help out in that department.
The second week my dad wanted to try out the video ability for recording off it. When we plugged it in there was a red background screen (we believe that it wasn't reading all the colours correctly- and not green and the blue colour as well.)
In the end with trying to get it working with our video recorder, it just wasn't working, and soon after all the power just went. We couldn't get it working again properly even on the digital channels, something blew inside it and i had to send it back.
Amazon were great (like always!) and gave me back a full refund.
Maybe we were unlucky and got a duff one? Or maybe the system doesn't like being fiddled around with it too much..
Either way i'm not sure whether to 'chance it' and buy another one, or to wait and save up and buy a flatscreen with digital channels already built in.

Thank you and Popcorn for the very prompt delivery of the Labtech set top digibox. So far it has proved excent value as a RF coupled box and it works well with my ancient no-scart television

I have a small collection of vintage TVs .
None of these is fitted with a scart socket . I had asked at various shops how this could be overcome . No one had been able to offer me a product that would do the job .
I found this on Amazon and swiftly recieved it . It was simplicity itself to set up and I had it working on my Sony Trinitron in minutes . I find that the picture quality is first class and sensitivity is very good also , I like the compact size of it and its smart appearance . If you have an old TV without scart , do not hesitate . You will be delighted . Oh , I nearly forgot . It also can be used with a scart TV , and the lead is supplied . Full marks to both Amazon and the supplier .

My wife likes her old 15 inch TV that we have in the bedroom. It has a good picture and good sound but it does not have a scart. As our area has switched off analogue, we looked at getting a digibox for it but we could only find ones which needed a scart connection. We then tried an LCD TV but the picture was poor and the sound quality was terrible and it did not sync with the picture. We took that back and looked at lots of other sets but the reviews all highlight the same problems with small sets - poor sound and narrow vewing angles.
In the end i found this which does work via the arial. It works fine. The picture is good and the electronic programme guide is better than other cheap boxes that we have tried - you can still watch the programme you are on when checking what else is on. The other bonus is that, unlike the LCD set and other digiboxes that we have, the picture does not break up when the hair dryer is on in the room!
